In recent years, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has become the largest importer of Pakistani mangoes. According to a report by the Ministry of Commerce, over the last five years, the UAE has purchased mangoes worth an impressive $159.74 million from Pakistan. This makes the UAE the biggest market for Pakistan’s prized mangoes, surpassing other countries.
Pakistan’s mangoes are known worldwide for their sweet taste and unique quality, making them a favorite in international markets. The UAE, with its strong demand for fresh fruit, has emerged as the top buyer, helping to boost Pakistan’s agricultural exports.
In addition to the UAE, other countries also import significant amounts of mangoes from Pakistan. The United Kingdom is the second-largest importer, with mangoes worth $131.96 million sent there over the past five years. Kazakhstan is another major market, with imports reaching $93.86 million.
Smaller but still notable markets for Pakistani mangoes include Oman, which imported mangoes worth $39.88 million, Afghanistan with $35.98 million, and Saudi Arabia at $29.61 million. These numbers show that Pakistan’s mangoes have a strong presence in various regions, contributing significantly to the country’s agricultural export revenues.
In total, Pakistan has exported mangoes worth $632.003 million in the past five years. The country continues to focus on expanding its mango exports to other markets and strengthening trade ties with countries like the UAE. This growth in mango exports is a part of Pakistan’s broader strategy to boost its agricultural sector and enhance its presence in the global marketplace.
Beyond mangoes, Pakistan’s citrus fruits have also been in demand, with exports totaling $30.9 million in the current fiscal year. These efforts to increase exports are crucial for Pakistan’s economy, and the government remains committed to promoting its agricultural products on the international stage.
With its continued focus on quality and market expansion, Pakistan is set to keep growing its mango exports, and the UAE will likely remain a key player in this important trade. As the demand for Pakistani mangoes increases, so does the potential for more opportunities and stronger trade relationships in the years to come.
