Balochistan, a province known for its diverse landscapes, recently experienced beautiful winter weather with snowfall and light rain in many regions. According to the MET office, the picturesque areas of Ziarat, Kan Mehtarzai, Kozhak, Khanozai, Lakk Pass, Muslim Bagh, and Mastung were covered in a layer of snow, creating a serene and magical atmosphere.
The snowfall on surrounding mountains enhanced the natural beauty of these regions, with the white peaks providing breathtaking views. Light rain also continued in areas like Washuk and Besima, adding to the charm of the weather.
Coastal areas of Balochistan, such as Jiwani, Pishukan, and Surbandar, witnessed light rain that brought a refreshing coolness to the coastal environment. This weather change has been welcomed by residents and visitors, making the coastline even more appealing.
Heavy snowfall in Kozhak Top posed challenges for local transportation, but authorities promptly initiated road clearance operations. Thanks to their efforts, traffic on key routes like the Quetta-Chaman highway continues to flow smoothly. The district administration, National Highway Authority (NHA), and Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) are working tirelessly to ensure safety and accessibility for travelers.
Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfraz shared insights about this weather system, noting that the cold wave entered Pakistan through Balochistan on January 18. He mentioned that while Karachi has felt strong winds and colder weather, the city is unlikely to receive rain. As this cold front moves towards northern regions, Karachi may experience cooler winds towards the end of January, around the 24th.
This winter season has brought joy to Balochistan, with its captivating blend of snowfall and rainfall transforming the province into a scenic winter destination.
