This year, matric students in Sindh have received some good news regarding their school fees. The Sindh government has stepped in to offer relief to students who are preparing for their matric exams, scheduled for March 2025. According to the new policy, private schools have been instructed not to collect fees for June and July from students who will sit for these exams. This move comes after several complaints were filed about some private schools demanding these fees.
Rafia Javed, the Additional Director of Private Schools in Karachi, explained that some private schools were asking matric students to pay fees for June and July, even though the exams are not scheduled until March. The government has now made it clear that these schools are prohibited from charging these additional fees.
For students preparing for the March 2025 exams, they are required to pay their fees by April 2025. This change will come as a relief to many, as it gives students more time to arrange the funds needed for their education without the pressure of paying extra fees for the summer months.
Additionally, the government has warned that schools that continue to violate these instructions will face strict actions. These schools will be closely monitored to ensure they comply with the new rules.
In other news, students in grades from primary to 9th grade will still be required to pay their June and July fees. However, the fees will be collected through vouchers, which can be paid by the end of July 2025. The vouchers for these payments will be issued in April and May 2025.
This initiative has been welcomed by many parents, as it eases the financial burden on students and ensures that they are not forced to pay unnecessary fees. In a separate development, the Punjab government has also taken action to ensure that private schools comply with regulations regarding school buses. The government has warned private schools that they must submit an action plan for transportation services or risk having their registration canceled.
These new steps by the government show their commitment to improving the education system and reducing the financial stress on students. With these changes, students can focus more on their studies and less on extra fees.
