The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has introduced an innovative mobile app called ‘Raahguzar’ to help users locate legal petrol pumps across Pakistan. This initiative, developed in collaboration with the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and the Oil Companies Advisory Council (OCAC), aims to provide convenience, transparency, and safety to consumers nationwide.
The Raahguzar app uses advanced Geographic Information System (GIS) technology to guide users toward authorized petrol stations. It is designed not only for everyday consumers but also for district governments and law enforcement agencies, making it a valuable tool for identifying unauthorized outlets, commonly known as “dabba stations.”
With Raahguzar, users can also report illegal activities such as unauthorized outlets, overcharging, or poor fuel quality. By enabling this reporting feature, OGRA ensures greater transparency and allows stakeholders to contribute to regulating the fuel distribution system in the country.
The app goes beyond just showing the location of legal petrol pumps. It also displays the current prices of petrol and diesel, helping users stay informed about fuel rates. This feature is particularly useful as it ensures that customers are aware of the official rates and can avoid being overcharged.
Raahguzar is user-friendly and accessible to everyone. Whether you’re a commuter looking for a trusted fuel station or an authority figure aiming to enforce regulations, this app caters to all needs. By empowering people with information, the app is a significant step towards reducing illegal practices in the petroleum sector.
With this new app, OGRA reinforces its commitment to ensuring safe, fair, and transparent fuel distribution across Pakistan.
