The Punjab Curriculum and Textbook Board has announced major changes to the syllabus for seven subjects in the 9th-grade curriculum. The Matriculation exams for 2025 will begin on March 4th, while 9th-grade exams will start on March 21, 2025. Intermediate exams are scheduled to start in the first week of May 2025. These dates will allow students ample time to prepare for their exams based on the new syllabus.
Furthermore, the Punjab Education Department has outlined the schedule for school admissions in the region. For the 2025-26 academic year, the school year will begin on April 1st, and admissions for grades 1 and 2 will open from April 1st to May 31st. Additional admissions will be accepted from August 15th to October 31st. This phased admission process will help manage student enrollments in both public and private institutions effectively.
Annual exams for students in classes 1-8 will take place from March 12th to March 25th, 2025, with results expected to be announced by March 31st, 2025. For schools in the Rawalpindi division, the new academic year will begin on April 1st, and the admission policy will allow new enrollments up to 10% of the total student capacity in government schools.
