The Punjab government has taken a significant step toward supporting minority communities by announcing financial grants for non-Muslim citizens on their religious festivals. This initiative aims to promote inclusivity and help struggling families celebrate their special occasions without financial worries.
Punjab’s Minister for Minority Affairs, Sardar Ramesh Arora, shared that under this scheme, eligible families from Sikh, Hindu, and Christian communities will receive a grant of Rs. 15,000. This financial support is intended to ease their burden and allow them to celebrate their religious events with dignity and joy.
March and April are particularly important months for religious festivals. The Hindu community will celebrate Holi on March 13 and 14, while Sikhs will commemorate Khalsa Janam Din and Vaisakhi on April 14. Meanwhile, Easter will be observed by Christians on April 20. With these grants, the Punjab government ensures that minority families can participate fully in their traditions without financial stress.
Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif is committed to fostering religious harmony and supporting all communities, emphasizing that minorities are an essential part of society. This initiative is part of the government’s broader efforts to create an inclusive and supportive environment for all citizens, ensuring that no one is left behind.
By launching this program, the Punjab government sets a strong example of religious unity and social welfare, reinforcing its dedication to protecting the rights and well-being of every community in the province.
