The Punjab Higher Education Commission has introduced strict new rules regarding college events. A recent decision bans dance performances on Indian songs and other activities considered immoral or inappropriate in both public and private colleges across the province.
To enforce these new regulations, a circular has been sent to all Directors of Colleges and Principals. They have been instructed to ensure that no student takes part in such activities during any college event, including sports galas and fun fairs.
The circular also includes a dress code, restricting students from wearing inappropriate clothing. Additionally, the use of offensive or indecent language during college events is strictly prohibited.
The Higher Education Commission has emphasized that the main focus of college administrations should be on education and character building. Authorities have warned that any institution failing to follow these guidelines will face strict action.
This step has been taken to promote a more disciplined and educational environment in colleges. The government aims to create a culture where students prioritize learning and personal growth rather than engaging in activities deemed inappropriate.
