A strong earthquake sent shockwaves through Peshawar, Zhob, and surrounding areas, making people rush out of their homes and offices in fear. Many were seen reciting Kalma Tayyiba as they sought safety.
According to the Seismological Center, the earthquake had a magnitude of 5.1, with its epicenter near the Afghanistan-Tajikistan border. Fortunately, there were no reports of injuries or property damage.
This is not the first earthquake to hit the region recently. Earlier, a 4.0 magnitude quake struck Zhob, Balochistan. It had a depth of 22 km, with the epicenter located 13 km west of the city.
Just three days ago, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and Azad Kashmir also experienced a 4.8 magnitude earthquake. This series of tremors has raised concerns among residents, who fear more seismic activity in the near future.
Pakistan is located in a seismically active region where earthquakes are common due to the movement of tectonic plates. Experts advise people to stay alert and follow safety measures during such events. The authorities continue to monitor the situation closely to ensure public safety.
