Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is all set to resume its direct flights between Islamabad and Paris after a four-year pause. This exciting development will begin on January 10, 2025, and it’s expected to strengthen ties between the two countries in terms of business, tourism, and people-to-people connections.
The first flight, PK749, will depart from Islamabad airport at 12:00 PM with over 300 passengers aboard. A special farewell ceremony will be held at the airport, attended by key figures like the Minister for Defense, Khawaja Muhammad Asif, PIA’s acting CEO Khurram Mushtaq, and the Secretary of Aviation. The flight will be operated by a Boeing 777, and it is expected to be fully booked, showing strong demand for this route.
This is not just a significant event for international travelers but also a part of PIA’s larger plan to expand its services. The airline will also be launching new domestic and international routes in the coming months. Starting from January 20, 2025, PIA will begin two weekly flights between Sialkot and Bahrain.
A weekly flight from Lahore to Kuwait will start on January 25, and two weekly flights between Lahore and Dammam will begin on January 22. Additionally, PIA will start operating weekly flights between Faisalabad and Jeddah from January 20, and a weekly flight between Peshawar and Karachi will begin on January 25. Furthermore, PIA will also be offering weekly flights between Sialkot and Doha starting January 21.
With all these new routes and the return to Paris, PIA is making a strong comeback, aiming to make travel easier for its passengers and contribute to the growth of tourism and trade between Pakistan and other countries. This expansion is expected to attract even more customers, further boosting the airline’s global presence.
