Pakistan cricket team’s star batter Saim Ayub has traveled from Cape Town to London for medical treatment following an unfortunate injury. The decision was made under the supervision of PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, who has taken a proactive role in ensuring the player receives the best possible care.
Accompanying Saim Ayub to London is assistant coach Azhar Mahmood, as directed by the PCB Chairman. Leading sports orthopedic doctors in England will conduct a thorough examination of the cricketer to plan his recovery. Chairman Mohsin Naqvi emphasized that no compromises will be made regarding Saim Ayub’s treatment. He further stated that every resource will be utilized to help the player return to full fitness as soon as possible.
Saim Ayub suffered an unfortunate injury during the second Test match against South Africa while fielding. The batter fractured his right ankle, ruling him out of cricket for approximately six weeks. This is particularly challenging for the Pakistan team as Saim Ayub is one of their key players, and his absence ahead of the Champions Trophy is a significant setback.
Criticism has arisen over the decision to send assistant coach Azhar Mahmood instead of medical professionals with Saim Ayub. However, PCB officials are confident in their approach, with Chairman Mohsin Naqvi maintaining direct communication with doctors to ensure the player’s health remains a priority.
The PCB Chairman referred to Saim Ayub as a valuable asset to Pakistan cricket, highlighting his importance to the team. He reassured fans and the cricketing community that every effort is being made to speed up his recovery so he can rejoin the team soon.
An ankle injury of this nature typically requires six to seven weeks of recovery time. The PCB remains committed to providing the best possible treatment and support for the talented cricketer to ensure his swift return to the field.
