As the holy month of Ramadan continues, people across Pakistan are eagerly waiting for Eid ul Fitr, one of the biggest Islamic festivals. This joyous occasion marks the end of fasting and brings celebrations, family gatherings, and special prayers.
Expected Date of Eid ul Fitr 2025
According to the Ruet-e-Hilal Research Council, Eid ul Fitr in Pakistan is expected to be on Monday, March 31, 2025. The Shawwal moon is likely to be sighted on Sunday, March 30, 2025. Experts say the moon will be over 26 hours old by that evening, making it easily visible in most parts of the country. However, the final confirmation will come after the official moon sighting announcement.

Possible Week-Long Holidays for Eid
This year, Pakistanis may enjoy a long holiday break for Eid ul Fitr. If the government announces official holidays from Monday, March 31, to Wednesday, April 2, many people could get a five-day break, including the weekend before Eid.
If additional holidays are granted, the break could extend from Saturday, March 29, to Sunday, April 6, giving people nine consecutive days off. This would allow families to enjoy quality time together, travel, and celebrate Eid without work or school interruptions.
Awaiting Official Announcement
The government is yet to confirm the exact number of public holidays for Eid ul Fitr 2025. The final decision will be made closer to the date, based on moon sighting reports and official notifications. If a longer break is approved, it will be a great opportunity for people to relax and celebrate.
