
Pakistan showcased remarkable skills and dominance at the Combaxx 7th Asian Open Taekwondo Championship, held at the Pakistan Sports Complex. The home team emerged as the top-performing nation, securing a total of 15 medals, including two gold, five silver, and eight bronze. This outstanding achievement placed Pakistan ahead of strong teams from Iran, Egypt, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, and Palestine.
Pakistan’s men’s team delivered a stunning performance, with several athletes claiming medals in different weight categories. In the -58kg category, Pakistan made a clean sweep, with Haroon Khan winning gold, Siddique Abubakar taking silver, and Tayyab Muhammad securing bronze. In the -74kg division, Junaid Faizan earned a bronze medal, while Omar Hamza Saeed won silver in the +87kg category.

The women’s squad also had an exceptional run in the tournament, particularly in the -62kg category, where Pakistan dominated by winning all three top medals. Sabira Bibi took home the gold medal, followed by Zoya Sabir with silver and Fazila Bibi with bronze. Additionally, Hafiza Aslam and Khadija also secured bronze medals in the same weight class. In the -49kg category, Zahraa Khawar and Fateemaah Tuz claimed silver medals, further adding to Pakistan’s success.
In the +73kg division, Manisha and Aneeza Imran won bronze medals, reinforcing Pakistan’s growing strength in taekwondo.
Pakistan’s dominant performance in this championship signals a bright future for the country in the international taekwondo scene.
