The Pakistan Day parade, held every year on March 23, will take place at the President’s House this time instead of its traditional venue, Shakarparian in Islamabad. This change comes as the government looks to cut costs and adjust the celebrations due to Ramadan.
A Simpler Yet Significant Event
This year’s event will be more low-key, with fewer military vehicles and weapons on display. However, key weapons and military equipment will still be showcased. Additionally, the Pakistan Air Force’s aerial performance will be reduced compared to previous years.
Despite these changes, the parade will continue to highlight Pakistan’s military strength and national unity. Organized by the Joint Staff Headquarters, the event will feature cultural floats from all provinces, including Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
High-Profile Attendees
The ceremony will include a special guard of honor for President Asif Ali Zardari. Other key figures attending the event include Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, and the chiefs of the army, navy, and air force.
Traditional Celebrations Continue
As per tradition, the day will start with a 31-gun salute in Islamabad and a 21-gun salute in the provincial capitals. This will be followed by various performances and displays that reflect the spirit of the Lahore Resolution of 1940.
Even with the simplified ceremony, Pakistan Day 2025 will remain a symbol of national pride and unity, celebrating the country’s rich history and achievements.
