
Pakistan and France are taking steps to strengthen their relationship, with a special focus on the aviation sector. A high-level French delegation, led by French Ambassador to Pakistan Nicolas Galey, visited the headquarters of the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) to explore new opportunities for cooperation in aviation infrastructure and technology.
During the visit, Ambassador Galey, along with Consul General Alexis Chahtahtinsky, met with PAA Director General Air Vice Marshal Zeeshan Saeed. The discussions revolved around the future direction of PAA after its recent separation from the Civil Aviation Authority. Key topics included introducing advanced e-gate systems to enhance airport security and efficiency, implementing Required Navigation Performance Authorization Required (RNP AR) approaches for airports in northern Pakistan, and plans to outsource airport operations to improve overall service quality.
Another important point of discussion was the upcoming operationalization of the New Gwadar International Airport, a crucial project that will boost connectivity and trade. Ambassador Galey assured France’s commitment to supporting Pakistan’s aviation sector and praised the modernization efforts of PAA.
Air Vice Marshal Zeeshan Saeed highlighted the opportunities for French aviation companies to participate in Pakistan’s airport development projects. He emphasized that international partnerships are essential for the growth of the aviation industry.
The meeting concluded with an exchange of souvenirs, symbolizing the strong diplomatic ties between Pakistan and France. This collaboration marks a significant step toward enhancing aviation services in Pakistan and fostering long-term cooperation between the two nations.
