The Oil & Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has achieved a significant milestone by starting oil and gas production from its Kharo-1 well. This is a promising step for Pakistan’s energy sector, as it helps strengthen the country’s energy resources.
The Kharo-1 well is now producing 20 barrels per day (BPD) of oil and 5 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) of gas. The well has been efficiently connected to the OGDCL Sinjhoro Processing Plant through a newly laid 12.5-kilometer flow line. The gas is seamlessly integrated into the Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) network, ensuring smooth delivery to the system.
OGDCL operates the Khewari Block, where the Kharo-1 well is located, with a 95% working interest. The remaining 5% is held by Government Holding Private Limited (GHPL). The well is situated in the Khairpur District of Sindh, highlighting the region’s importance in contributing to the nation’s energy resources.
This development reflects OGDCL’s dedication to excellence in operations and reinforces its role as a leader in Pakistan’s hydrocarbon sector. By bringing the Kharo-1 well into production, OGDCL is not only expanding its capabilities but also contributing to the country’s energy stability.
With projects like these, OGDCL continues to play a key role in driving Pakistan’s energy sector forward.
