The government of Pakistan has introduced a new and convenient way to get your passport without waiting at the crowded central passport office. To make passport services more accessible and reduce long queues, the government has decided to set up passport offices in two major NADRA Mega Centres in Karachi. These new locations are the NADRA Mega Centre at 5 Star Chowrangi and the NADRA Mega Centre at Siemens Chowrangi (SITE).
This move is part of an ongoing effort to make the process of getting a passport quicker and easier for people living in Karachi, the largest city in Pakistan. With this initiative, more citizens will have easy access to passport services, without the need to travel all the way to the central office. These centres will now offer the same passport services that people previously had to wait for at the main passport office.
This decision was taken after a visit from Mustafa Jamal Qazi, the Director General of Immigration and Passports, to Karachi. During this visit, Qazi reviewed the situation and discussed the setup of passport offices at NADRA Mega Centres. His visit confirmed that these new locations would help reduce the burden on the central office.
In addition to Karachi, the government plans to extend this initiative across Pakistan. Sources say that soon, passport services will be available at around 11 other NADRA Mega Centres in various cities, making it easier for people everywhere to get their passports without hassle.
This is a big step in improving the passport application process in Pakistan. Citizens have already shown their satisfaction with the efficient system, especially after the government’s efforts to address delays in passport issuance. The Federal Interior Minister, Mohsin Naqvi, promised that the long wait times for passports are a thing of the past. He assured everyone that passports would now be delivered on time, just as promised.
The efforts to clear the backlog of passport applications have been successful. Since July 1, more than 3.3 million passports have been printed and issued, including urgent and fast-track requests. This remarkable achievement was made possible by the hard work of the passport production team, who worked tirelessly to meet the growing demand.
Now that the backlog has been cleared, people can collect their passports directly from regional passport offices without waiting for a message or email notification. The delivery process has been fully completed, and everyone who has applied for a passport can easily pick up their documents.
With these improvements, Pakistanis can now enjoy a smoother and faster passport application experience. This initiative is expected to continue expanding and will benefit many more citizens in the future. If you live in Karachi or any other city with a NADRA Mega Centre, be sure to take advantage of this new service and enjoy the quicker, easier way to get your passport.
