Muslims from around the world eagerly visit Madina during the holy month of Ramadan to experience spiritual blessings and break their fast at Masjid-e-Nabwi, one of Islam’s holiest sites. As Ramadan 2025 approaches, Saudi authorities have introduced new guidelines to improve the iftar experience for worshippers.
To make the iftar meals more diverse, authorities have approved the addition of two new food items. This year, in addition to the staple offerings of dates, bread, yogurt, water, and wrapped tissues, meal providers can now include cupcakes, nuts, maamoul, cream, and stuffed dates. This change aims to offer pilgrims a more fulfilling and nourishing meal.
The General Authority for Care of the Two Holy Mosques has also implemented strict regulations for meal distribution. Only registered catering companies with prior experience in serving Hajj and Umrah pilgrims will be allowed to provide meals. These providers must work closely with designated officials at Masjid-e-Nabwi to ensure smooth and organized food distribution.

Muslims around the world are eagerly awaiting the arrival of Ramadan, expected to begin on either February 28 or March 1, 2025, depending on the sighting of the moon. The new guidelines at Masjid-e-Nabwi aim to enhance the experience for the thousands of pilgrims who gather to break their fast in the sacred mosque.
