The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has launched a groundbreaking interest-free loan scheme designed to support young entrepreneurs, with a special focus on women in tourist areas. This initiative, announced by Ashfeen Haider, Director General of the KP Culture and Tourism Authority, aims to transform the region’s tourism landscape while empowering local communities economically.
This innovative program provides financial support to budding entrepreneurs, helping them start and expand their businesses. By doing so, the government seeks to enhance the quality of tourism services, creating a welcoming and memorable experience for visitors. The scheme is expected to unlock the full potential of KP’s breathtaking tourist spots and promote sustainable economic growth in the region.
The loan distribution process is being carried out in three phases to ensure its success. After all phases are complete, the government will conduct thorough assessments to make sure the services and accommodations offered to tourists meet the highest standards. Additionally, solar energy solutions will be incorporated into these facilities, making them eco-friendly and sustainable.
Ashfeen Haider emphasized the scheme’s transparency and its goal of empowering women. The initiative is set to ensure that at least 50% of the beneficiaries are female entrepreneurs. This step not only provides equal opportunities but also enables women to play a pivotal role in KP’s tourism industry.
Inspired by global best practices, the KP government is committed to offering world-class facilities for tourists. The goal is to provide a comfortable and unforgettable experience while supporting local businesses. With this initiative, KP is paving the way for a brighter future, blending economic empowerment with tourism development.
