Authorities have imposed a strict ban on heavy traffic entry into Islamabad and Rawalpindi as part of enhanced security measures for the Champions Trophy 2025. The restriction will be in place on February 24, 25, and 27 from 7:30 AM to 1:30 AM.
To ensure smooth traffic flow and public safety, the National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP) have set up checkpoints at multiple locations outside the twin cities. Heavy vehicles will not be allowed to enter from Margalla, Taxila, Burhan Interchange, Chakri Interchange, Mandra Toll Plaza, and Satra Meel Toll Plaza.
Over 351 officers have been deployed to manage traffic and assist the public. Due to VIP movements, congestion is expected on major roads such as Srinagar Highway and Expressway. Authorities have advised commuters to use alternative routes and cooperate with law enforcement.
