Great news for millions of deserving families in Pakistan! The Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) has introduced significant changes to make life easier for its beneficiaries. Senator Rubina Khalid, Chairperson of BISP, has officially announced an increase in the quarterly payment under the Benazir Kafaalat initiative. Beneficiaries will now receive Rs 13,500, an essential boost aimed at providing more financial relief to vulnerable families.
The year 2025 has also been designated for the launch of the ‘Benazir Hunarmand Programme.’ This initiative will focus on training individuals and helping them secure employment opportunities. By providing training in various fields, BISP aims to equip deserving individuals with skills that can lead to sustainable income and financial independence.

BISP, established in 2008, has become one of the most important social welfare programs in Pakistan. Its primary goal is to alleviate poverty by providing financial aid to those who need it the most. Over the years, it has gained recognition for its focus on empowering women, who are the main beneficiaries of the program. Through unconditional cash transfers and additional social protection measures, BISP has played a critical role in supporting families and improving their quality of life.
In a move to make the payment withdrawal process more convenient, the government has expanded the list of banks where beneficiaries can access their funds. Previously, payments could only be withdrawn through Habib Bank Limited (HBL), which often caused long waiting times. Now, several new banks have been added, ensuring faster and more accessible services. Beneficiaries can withdraw their payments from the following banks:
- Bank Al Falah
- Bank of Punjab
- Mobilink Microfinance (JazzCash)
- Telenor Microfinance Bank
- Habib Bank Limited (HBL)
- HBL Microfinance
This expansion will reduce waiting times and make it easier for families to access their quarterly payments, ensuring that financial assistance reaches them without unnecessary delays.
BISP continues to evolve and improve its services to help those in need. With the increase in payments, the launch of skill development programs, and the addition of more banks for withdrawals, the program is striving to provide better support to the people of Pakistan. These initiatives highlight the government’s commitment to reducing poverty and empowering vulnerable groups, making BISP a beacon of hope for millions.
Families across the country can look forward to a brighter future with these new measures, ensuring that the financial aid they receive is not only sufficient but also accessible and effective in creating long-term opportunities.
