Today, mild earthquake tremors were felt in Quetta and the southern areas of Kalat, causing fear and panic among residents. Many people rushed out of their homes, reciting prayers as they sought safety. Though the tremors were not very intense, they left a noticeable impact on the local population.
According to the Seismological Center, the earthquake had a magnitude of 3.6 on the Richter scale. The quake originated at a depth of 33 kilometers, with its epicenter located approximately 27 kilometers south of Kalat. Despite the low intensity, the tremors prompted immediate reactions from the community.
This incident follows a recent earthquake in Sibi and surrounding areas of Balochistan. That quake, recorded at a stronger magnitude of 4.7, had a depth of 18 kilometers. The epicenter was reported to be 22 kilometers southeast of Sibi. The back-to-back tremors have heightened concerns among residents about the region’s seismic activity.
While no damages or injuries were reported in these incidents, the frequent tremors serve as a reminder of the importance of preparedness and safety measures in earthquake-prone areas. Residents are urged to stay informed and take precautions to ensure their safety during such events.
