The minimum temperature recorded in Karachi was 10°C, but the wind chill made it feel like 8°C. The cold winds, coming from the northeast, have led to an increase in the overall coldness, making the weather feel more intense than usual.
In the early morning, light rain was reported in some parts of Karachi, which further lowered the temperature. According to the meteorological department, the city is experiencing winds at speeds ranging from 25 to 35 kilometers per hour, and the maximum temperature for the day is expected to be around 25°C.
The northern regions of Pakistan, including Gilgit-Baltistan and Balochistan, are also facing severe cold. The temperature in Skardu dropped to -9°C, while Ziarat recorded -7°C and Astore -6°C. The temperature in Quetta and Gilgit was also recorded as -5°C.

In the plains of Punjab, particularly in Lahore, fog has made the cold even more unbearable. The fog has reduced visibility, leading to the closure of several sections of the motorway due to safety concerns.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department predicts that over the next 24 hours, most of the country will experience cold and dry weather. The weather will remain particularly cold in mountainous regions like Kashmir, Gilgit, Swat, and Dir.
This cold spell is expected to last for a few more days, and citizens have been advised to wear warm clothes and avoid unnecessary outdoor activities to protect themselves from the biting cold.
