Maryam Nawaz, the Chief Minister of Punjab, recently shared some exciting updates regarding the CM Punjab Laptop Scheme, a great initiative aimed at empowering students across the province. During her speech at Islamia University in Bahawalpur, Maryam Nawaz not only highlighted the significance of education but also emphasized the need for unity and harmony in society. She expressed her commitment to promoting a society that values education and inclusivity, leaving behind any form of hatred.
The CM revealed that the first shipment of laptops under the scheme has already arrived, and distribution will begin soon. This initiative aims to provide deserving students with the latest devices, helping them in their educational journey. The laptops being provided are the top-of-the-line core i7, 13th-generation models, ensuring that students have access to the best tools for their studies. These laptops will be distributed to deserving students, with a special focus on those who have shown exceptional academic performance.
In addition to the laptop scheme, Maryam Nawaz also shared exciting news about another initiative—the distribution of electric bikes. Next year, the Punjab government plans to distribute free electric bikes to 100,000 students. This move aims to make transportation more affordable and eco-friendly for students, making it easier for them to commute to their educational institutions.
Furthermore, Maryam Nawaz mentioned that 27 electric buses have already arrived at Karachi Port, and the government has placed an order for an additional 500 electric buses. This will significantly improve public transport options and contribute to a cleaner environment.
The CM also talked about the Chief Minister’s Honhar Scholarship Program, which has already awarded scholarships worth Rs 177.2 million to 3,011 students in Bahawalpur. Under this program, scholarships will be provided to students from both government and private educational institutions across Punjab, with a special focus on female students. In total, 18,000 female students will receive scholarships, helping them pursue their dreams and achieve academic success.
As part of her commitment to supporting education, Maryam Nawaz directed the officials to ensure that the laptops are distributed to deserving students within 90 days. The scheme also includes laptops for top position holders in Matriculation and Intermediate (F.Sc) exams. These students will not only receive laptops but will also be honored with a Guard of Honour for their exceptional academic achievements.
