The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has announced that all banks across the country will be closed on Monday, March 3, 2025. This bank holiday is being observed on the first day of Ramadan and is specifically designated for Zakat deduction.
What This Means for Customers
On this day, all commercial banks, Development Finance Institutions (DFIs), and Microfinance Banks (MFBs) will not be open for public dealings. However, it is important to note that bank employees will still be required to work as usual, as this is considered a working day except for public-facing services.
Plan Your Banking Needs in Advance
Since banks will not be providing services at their branches, customers are advised to plan their financial transactions in advance. However, digital banking services will continue to operate as usual. This means customers can still use online banking, mobile banking apps, and ATMs without any disruption.
When Will Banks Reopen?
The banking sector will resume normal operations on Tuesday, March 4, 2025. Customers who need in-person services can visit their respective bank branches on that day.
For any further details, customers are encouraged to check with their respective banks or visit the official website of the State Bank of Pakistan.
