Good news for people who use petrol and diesel! A major drop in fuel prices is expected from February 15, bringing some relief to consumers who have been struggling with high costs. Industry experts have submitted a report to the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) predicting a significant reduction in petroleum prices.
According to their calculations, high-speed diesel (HSD) may become cheaper by up to Rs. 9.11 per liter. Petrol prices are also expected to go down by Rs. 2.50 per liter. Other fuels like kerosene oil and light diesel oil (LDO) may also see price cuts of Rs. 3.45 and Rs. 5.60 per liter, respectively.
These adjustments are based on changes in global crude oil prices. OGRA will finalize its recommendations after analyzing international market trends and will submit them to the government on February 15. The final decision will be made by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Once the decision is approved, the Ministry of Finance will release an official notification, setting the new fuel prices for the next 15 days.
This expected price drop is great news for millions of consumers across the country. With inflation rising and the cost of living increasing, cheaper fuel prices can help reduce transportation costs and bring some financial relief to households and businesses. People are eagerly waiting for the official announcement, hoping that the government will pass on the full benefits of lower global oil prices to the public.
If the fuel prices decrease as expected, it could have a positive impact on daily expenses. Lower diesel prices may also benefit industries, businesses, and public transport, making goods and services more affordable. The upcoming price cut could bring much-needed economic relief at a time when people are looking for ways to manage their expenses.
