Karachi: The Education Department of Sindh has announced a public holiday for all educational institutions in the province on the occasion of Shab-e-Meraj. The holiday will be observed on January 28, Tuesday, and all schools, colleges, and other educational institutions will remain closed on that day.
The notification for the holiday has been issued, stating that students and staff will be given the day off to observe this sacred night with reverence and devotion. Shab-e-Meraj holds significant religious importance for Muslims as it marks the night when Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was blessed with the Miraj (ascension). This night is celebrated with great devotion and respect.

Following the announcement of the public holiday by the Sindh government, educational institutions will reopen as usual on Wednesday, January 29. Students and teachers have been instructed to resume academic activities after the holiday.
This announcement has been met with joy among the public, as people will have the opportunity to observe Shab-e-Meraj in a spiritual manner. The decision is seen as an important effort to promote religious and cultural harmony.
Parents and students are advised to check with their respective institutions for further details to avoid any confusion during the holiday period. The closure of educational institutions on Shab-e-Meraj reflects our cultural practice of giving importance to religious events and celebrations.
