Naseem Shah, Islamabad United’s star fast bowler, is eagerly looking forward to Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10. What’s making him even more excited this season? The chance to play alongside two incredible Australian players: Riley Meredith and Matthew Short.
Matthew Short is a powerhouse with the bat. Known for his explosive hitting, Short boasts a remarkable strike rate of 146.46 in T20 cricket. Islamabad United made a smart move by picking him in the platinum category during the PSL 10 Player Draft. With his ability to smash bowlers all around the park, Short is set to be a key player for Islamabad United, especially on their home ground in Rawalpindi, where fans love high-scoring action.

Riley Meredith, on the other hand, is a speedster who brings sheer pace and bounce to the game. Picked in the supplementary category, Meredith has already proven his talent in T20 cricket, with 142 wickets in 113 matches at an average of 24.26. His fiery bowling is expected to light up the league, and Pakistani fans, who are passionate about fast bowling, will surely enjoy watching him in action.

Sharing his excitement, Naseem Shah said, “I’m thrilled to have Riley Meredith and Matthew Short on our team this season. Riley’s pace and bounce are something special, and I believe he’ll electrify the league. Pakistani fans love fast bowlers, and Riley fits the bill perfectly. As for Matthew Short, I’m just relieved I won’t have to bowl to him! He’s such a destructive batter and can take down any bowling attack in no time. I think he’ll love playing on our home ground in Rawalpindi.”
In addition to Meredith and Short, Islamabad United also added another Australian player, Ben Dwarshuis, to their squad. A left-arm pacer with an impressive track record, Dwarshuis has 176 T20 wickets in 140 games at an average of 22. His inclusion further strengthens the team’s bowling attack, giving Islamabad United a well-rounded squad for the upcoming season.
