Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif recently inaugurated the first Daanish School of Science and Technology in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), marking a historic moment for the region. This new school in Bhimber promises to bring quality education to talented students, especially from underprivileged areas, providing them with opportunities for a better future.
The Daanish School initiative was originally launched by former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, with the aim to offer free education to students who might otherwise not have access to high-quality learning facilities. PM Shehbaz Sharif spoke proudly of the initiative, sharing that thousands of students have graduated from Daanish Schools and are now making valuable contributions in different fields.
These schools are designed to help students from disadvantaged backgrounds by offering free books, meals, and boarding facilities. PM Shehbaz emphasized the importance of providing such opportunities to children in remote and underdeveloped areas. The Daanish Schools are set to play a crucial role in shaping the future of these children, helping them break free from the cycle of poverty through education.
During his speech, the Prime Minister also announced exciting plans to expand the Daanish Schools initiative in AJK. He revealed that more Daanish Schools will be established in the region, including in places like Neelum. Furthermore, the program will be extended to other areas like Gilgit Baltistan, Balochistan, and the merged districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The aim is to make high-quality education accessible to more students across Pakistan, especially those living in remote areas.
In addition, PM Shehbaz Sharif set a deadline for the completion and operationalization of the school within a year. This shows the government’s commitment to quickly delivering on this important project.
The Prime Minister also spoke about Pakistan’s continued support for the people of Kashmir. He assured the audience that the sacrifices made by the Kashmiri people would never be forgotten. He praised the efforts of the Chief of Army Staff, General Syed Asim Munir, in supporting the Kashmiri cause, highlighting Pakistan’s strong political, moral, and diplomatic support for Kashmiris.
PM Shehbaz also mentioned the country’s recent economic achievements, such as lowering inflation and interest rates, boosting exports, and increasing remittances from overseas Pakistanis. He emphasized that the government had successfully averted an economic crisis and is on track to complete the International Monetary Fund (IMF) program.
AJK Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq also spoke at the event, calling the Daanish School initiative a “game-changer” for the region. Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs, Amir Muqam, confirmed that four more Daanish Schools will be established in AJK, further expanding access to quality education for the youth.
This milestone event was attended by several key figures, including federal ministers, AJK legislators, and leaders from the Hurriyat movement. The ceremony highlighted the government’s focus on education as a key pillar of national development. With this new school, many children in AJK will now have the chance to unlock their potential and contribute to the future progress of their country.
The opening of the Daanish School in AJK is just the beginning of a larger effort to ensure that every child in Pakistan, no matter where they come from, has the opportunity to succeed through education. This initiative is set to bring lasting change to the region, and it promises a brighter future for many young people in AJK and beyond.
