The Ministry of Religious Affairs has received a substantial amount of money from pilgrims registering for Hajj 2025 under the government’s Hajj scheme. The funds were collected in two installments, and the total amount deposited so far has reached 48.9 billion rupees.
To secure their place, each pilgrim initially paid 200,000 rupees as the first installment. This installment alone brought in 16.3 billion rupees. The second installment, amounting to 400,000 rupees per person, was collected between December 27, 2024, and January 2, 2025, through local banks. This installment added 32.6 billion rupees to the total.
The government aims to collect nearly 100 billion rupees in total for Hajj expenses from the pilgrims participating in the scheme. A third and final installment is scheduled to be collected in the second week of February. This last payment will be determined based on the finalized Hajj package, which includes costs for accommodation, tickets, transportation, food, and other essentials.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs is currently finalizing arrangements to ensure a smooth Hajj experience for all pilgrims. These preparations include securing housing, organizing transportation, and providing meals for pilgrims during their journey.
This year, 81,500 pilgrims have already contributed their payments, showcasing the strong enthusiasm for the sacred journey. With these funds, the government plans to provide a comfortable and well-organized Hajj experience for all participants.
Hajj is a significant spiritual milestone for Muslims, and the government’s initiative ensures that the process is smooth and accessible for all who embark on this holy journey.
