Karachi is all set for the Youm-e-Ali procession, a significant event for many. To manage the increased flow of people and vehicles, the Karachi Traffic Police have put in place a special traffic plan. This will help ensure that the procession moves smoothly while reducing traffic disruptions in the city.
The procession will begin at 4:00 pm today from Ghafoor Chamber and will end at Mehfil Shah Khorasan. During this time, several roads in the southern parts of the city will be temporarily closed. To keep traffic moving, the police have shared important information for all travelers.
One of the major roads that will be closed is MA Jinnah Road, which will be blocked between Tibet Centre and Gurumandar Chowk. Other nearby roads will also be affected, so drivers are advised to take alternative routes.
If you’re traveling along Bahadur Yar Jang Road, you can take different routes to avoid the closed areas. You can use Soldier Bazaar No. 1 Signal, Coast Guard, Anklesaria Hospital Signal, or Sharea Quaideen to get to Naumaish Chowrangi without any trouble.
For people coming from Society Light Signal, traffic will be directed through Ayesha Aziz Chowrangi to PP Chowrangi or via Khudadad Colony Bridge toward Empress Market.
Travelers from Fresco to Naumaish Chowrangi can take routes like Eidgah Chowk, Jubilee, and Nishtar Road or turn at Regal Chowk via Tibet Centre to continue their journey.
For those coming from Fawara Chowk and Garden Nishtar Road, traffic will be diverted via Abdullah Haroon Road, Paradise Signal, and Empress Market to reach their destination.
The traffic police are urging everyone to follow the alternative routes carefully to avoid delays. It’s best to plan your travel in advance and expect some delays, as the roads will be busier than usual.
With this traffic plan in place, the authorities are working to ensure that the Youm-e-Ali procession goes smoothly and safely for all participants and commuters in Karachi.
