Quetta Gladiators went with Mark Chapman, and Peshawar Zalmi brought in Tom Kohler-Cadmore. Other notable names included Michael Bracewell for Multan Sultans and Matthew Short for Islamabad United.
The Diamond Category also added strong players to the squads. Karachi Kings chose Khushdil Shah, and Islamabad United picked Jason Holder. Lahore Qalandars selected Kusal Perera, while Peshawar Zalmi added Corbin Bosch and Mohammad Ali.
