In a significant development for Pakistani Muslims, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have officially signed the annual Hajj agreement for 2025. This agreement, inked by Chaudhry Salik Hussain, Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, and Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan al-Rabiah, Saudi Minister of Hajj and Umrah, is expected to make the Hajj pilgrimage more accessible and convenient for Pakistani pilgrims.
Under the agreement, a total of 179,210 Pakistani pilgrims will have the opportunity to perform Hajj this year. This will be a momentous occasion for many, as the Hajj pilgrimage is a once-in-a-lifetime religious journey for Muslims from all over the world. Saudi Arabia has committed to offering Pakistani pilgrims the best possible facilities during their stay, ensuring that they experience the journey with comfort and ease.
One of the key highlights of the agreement is the provision of special accommodation in Mina at reduced rates for Pakistani pilgrims. This will make it easier for more people to take part in the pilgrimage, as accommodation costs in Saudi Arabia during Hajj are often a major concern for pilgrims. The Saudi government has assured that it will provide all possible support to ensure that Pakistani pilgrims have a comfortable stay throughout their journey.
For those who wish to make their Hajj journey more accessible, a new short Hajj program has been introduced. The program will last between 20 to 25 days, making it easier for people to complete their religious duties within a shorter time frame. This change will be beneficial for those who may not have the time or resources for a longer pilgrimage.
Pilgrims will also have the option to choose their accommodation in Medina for a period of four to eight days, offering them flexibility and the chance to experience the sacred city for a longer duration. This will give them ample time to visit important religious sites in Medina, including the Prophet’s Mosque, a key destination for millions of Muslims.
In an effort to streamline the Hajj process and improve communication with pilgrims, a specially designed bag will be provided to each pilgrim. This bag will contain the Pakistani flag, a QR code for identification, and essential information. Pilgrims will also benefit from a special mobile app, which will keep them updated on everything related to their Hajj journey. From flight details to accommodation information, and even live maps of key sites, the app will be an essential tool for ensuring a smooth and well-organized pilgrimage.
As part of this agreement, Federal Minister Chaudhry Salik Hussain will attend an international Hajj conference and expo in Jeddah, organized by the Saudi Ministry of Hajj. This event will bring together representatives from various countries and organizations to discuss and finalize additional agreements aimed at enhancing the facilities for pilgrims.
With these improvements, the 2025 Hajj pilgrimage promises to be a more organized, efficient, and comfortable experience for Pakistani pilgrims. The collaboration between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia reflects the strong commitment of both countries to ensure that Muslims from around the world can undertake this sacred journey with ease and convenience.
This historic agreement is a step forward in making the Hajj pilgrimage a more accessible and rewarding experience for millions of Muslims worldwide.
