Great news for people in Pakistan who need to apply for or renew their passports! The Directorate General of Immigration and Passports has made it much easier and quicker for citizens to get their travel documents.
Now, passport delivery counters will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, in all cities across the country. This means you can collect your passport at any time that suits you from one of the 227 passport offices available nationwide.
According to Director-General Mustafa Jamal Qazi, the issue of delays in passport processing, caused by a major backlog, has finally been resolved. Applicants no longer need to worry about unnecessary waiting times to get their passports.
To make the process even more convenient, two new mega centers run by the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) have started operating in Karachi. These centers, located at Siemens Chowrangi and North Nazimabad, are equipped with five counters each. Three counters handle application processing, one is for distribution, and one for approvals.
These mega centers are also open 24/7, allowing citizens to visit at any time to apply for a new passport or renew an old one. Staff members have already started working, and an official inauguration ceremony is set to take place next week.
In an earlier visit to the passport production unit, DG Mustafa Jamal Qazi shared that a record-breaking number of 3,376,510 passports have been printed since July 1. These include 776,451 passports processed under the normal category, 1,896,403 under urgent processing, and 703,656 using the fast-track service.
This new service is designed to make passport application easier, faster, and more accessible for everyone. Whether you’re in a hurry or need a passport at your convenience, the updated system is now here to help.
