The Henley Passport Index for 2025 has once again ranked Pakistan among the countries with the weakest passports. According to the latest report, Pakistan stands at 103rd position, tied with Yemen. This means Pakistani passport holders can only visit 33 countries without needing a visa.
In comparison, countries like Iraq (104th), Syria (105th), and Afghanistan (106th) rank lower than Pakistan. However, nations like Somalia, Nepal, Palestine, and Bangladesh are slightly ahead, with Somalia placed at 102nd.
Looking at the region, Pakistan lags behind its neighbors. India is ranked 85th, offering its citizens visa-free access to more destinations. China holds the 60th spot, while Iran ranks 96th. Saudi Arabia fares much better, securing 58th position.
On the other hand, Singapore has been crowned with the most powerful passport in the world for 2025, offering visa-free travel to 195 destinations. Japan follows with access to 193 destinations. Several European countries, along with South Korea, share third place with 192 destinations.
Some of the world’s strongest passports include those from Austria, Germany, and France, while countries like the United States, Canada, and the UAE also rank highly.
The Henley Passport Index evaluates passports based on their visa-free travel access. This ranking highlights the need for countries like Pakistan to strengthen international ties and improve global mobility for their citizens.
