Lahore has taken a big step towards modernizing its education system by launching a QR code service for quick and secure verification of academic certificates. The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Lahore introduced this new system to simplify the process of verifying documents like certificates, roll number slips, and result cards.
With this service, every academic document issued by BISE Lahore will include a unique QR code. This code can be scanned using a smartphone or any QR code reader, allowing instant online verification. This makes it much easier for educational institutions and employers to confirm the authenticity of a student’s credentials.
The main aim of this system is to fight the growing problem of fake degrees. In the past, verifying academic documents was a time-consuming process that involved a lot of paperwork. Now, with QR codes, this process becomes fast and reliable, giving peace of mind to both employers and institutions.
However, some institutions that require validation from the Higher Education Commission (HEC) will still need to follow traditional verification methods for now.
This change shows how BISE Lahore is embracing technology to improve the way academic records are managed. By adopting modern solutions, they are making the verification process secure, efficient, and trustworthy.
In another development, a controversy over tampered intermediate exam results in Karachi has led to major changes. The Chairman of the Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) was removed after students in the pre-medical and pre-engineering groups protested their unexpectedly low scores. This caused significant unrest, with students demanding a review of the results.
Sharaf Ali Shah, the Chairman of the Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK), has been appointed as the acting chairman of BIEK. He has already formed an inquiry committee to look into the complaints.
The committee has been tasked with investigating the issue and resolving student concerns within one month. During a meeting with the Secretary of the Universities and Boards Department, it was emphasized that transparency is the top priority. Students and parents have been encouraged to share their complaints and suggestions with the Inter Board.
Sharaf Ali Shah assured everyone that students are the future and their concerns will be addressed fairly and quickly. This initiative, along with Lahore’s new QR code service, highlights the efforts being made to improve trust, efficiency, and innovation in the education system across Pakistan.
