Pakistan has taken a big step in becoming more self-reliant in technology by launching its first-ever locally made ventilator. This significant achievement was announced by the Federal Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives, Ahsan Iqbal. The ventilator, created by a private company, is part of the government’s “Uraan Pakistan” initiative, which focuses on encouraging and supporting homegrown technological advancements.
During the unveiling ceremony, Ahsan Iqbal praised the company behind this milestone, calling it a true leader of innovation in Pakistan. Iqbal also shared his vision for a brighter future for the country, urging people to work together to create a new image for Pakistan as it approaches its 100th year of independence in 2047.
Iqbal stressed the importance of preparing for the future by embracing new technologies that are part of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Despite its smaller population compared to neighboring countries, Pakistan has the potential to excel in technological advancements over the next 20 years. He emphasized the need for long-term policies and reforms, drawing inspiration from countries like Japan and South Korea, which transformed their economies through consistency and innovation.
The minister also set an ambitious goal of increasing Pakistan’s exports from $30 billion to $100 billion in the next eight to nine years. He urged the private sector to take the lead in achieving this target, especially in agriculture and industrial sectors. According to Iqbal, the country’s economic success depends on innovation, entrepreneurship, and building an export-driven economy.
Ahsan Iqbal also addressed the negative perceptions about Pakistan, acknowledging the hardworking and talented people in the country. He called on young people to embrace technology and use their skills to help Pakistan compete internationally. He reminded everyone that with determination and a focus on innovation, Pakistan could overcome its challenges and secure a brighter future.
