This year, exports reached $9.09 billion, up from $8.29 billion in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year.

On a month-on-month basis, there was also a 1.3% increase in December’s performance when compared to November 2024, where exports stood at $1.46 billion.
While the textile industry performed well, the overall export numbers for December 2024 remained largely steady. Exports recorded a slight 1% increase, reaching $2.841 billion compared to $2.882 billion in December 2023.
However, imports saw a notable rise in December 2024, growing by 14% to $5.285 billion compared to $4.635 billion in the same month last year. This marked the highest import figure in more than two years.
For the first half of FY25, total exports increased by 11%, reaching $16.561 billion. On the other hand, imports also grew by 6%, totaling $27.733 billion during the same period.
The consistent growth in textile exports reflects the resilience and competitiveness of Pakistan’s textile sector, which continues to play a crucial role in the country’s economy. Despite challenges in global markets, the industry has managed to improve its performance, contributing positively to the nation’s trade figures.
With the textile sector leading the way, it will be interesting to see how Pakistan’s trade landscape evolves in the second half of FY25.
