In a significant development, the Ministry of Religious Affairs in Pakistan has announced that it will soon open applications for 5,000 additional pilgrims to participate in the upcoming Hajj season. This news was shared during a meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Religious Affairs, chaired by MNA Aamir Dogar. The decision comes as part of the government’s efforts to provide more opportunities for Pakistanis to perform the sacred pilgrimage.
The meeting was dedicated to discussing the preparations for the upcoming Hajj season, ensuring that everything is in place for the pilgrims. One of the key points raised during the session was the quality of food provided to the pilgrims. Officials emphasized that there would be no compromise on food quality, and they will continue to ensure that pilgrims receive nutritious and safe meals during their journey.
Additionally, the committee discussed the importance of proper training for those who will be performing Hajj. Member of the committee, Mujahid Ali, stressed the need for comprehensive guidance and instruction to help pilgrims navigate the Hajj rituals with ease. Aamir Dogar, the chairman, acknowledged that progress has been made in raising awareness about the pilgrimage and offering training sessions at various Hajj camps across the country.

Another topic of discussion during the meeting was the issue raised by Asiya Naz Tanoli, who questioned the absence of Pakistan Houses in Makkah and Madinah. The Secretary of Religious Affairs explained that Saudi Arabian laws prohibit the construction of such facilities on independent land. This has been a challenge for the government, but the Secretary reassured the committee that the Ministry would make every effort to ensure that other necessary facilities and services are available for pilgrims.
In the past, several services were offered free of charge to pilgrims, such as water coolers and other basic amenities. However, due to recent changes, some of these services now require payment. Despite this, the Ministry has committed to providing all the essential facilities and support to ensure the comfort and well-being of pilgrims during their Hajj journey.
The government’s efforts to increase the number of Hajj pilgrims reflect its commitment to supporting religious tourism and making the pilgrimage more accessible to a wider section of the population. With these 5,000 additional slots, many more people will have the chance to fulfill their religious duty and experience one of the most important rituals in Islam.
As the Hajj season approaches, Pakistanis who wish to apply for the pilgrimage should stay tuned for the official announcement and prepare to submit their applications in the coming days. With careful planning and improved facilities, this year’s Hajj is expected to be an organized and spiritually fulfilling experience for all pilgrims.
