The National Logistics Corporation (NLC) has successfully launched cargo delivery services from China to Dubai through Pakistan, marking a significant milestone for international trade in the region. As part of this initiative, a truck loaded with electronic equipment departed from Kashgar, China, heading to the Jebel Ali Port in Dubai.
The truck completed its first stop at the NLC Dry Port in Sost, where a special ceremony was held to celebrate this historic achievement. According to NLC, the cargo will be transported from Kashgar to Karachi within 8 days, followed by a 2-day sea journey from Karachi to Jebel Ali Port. This ensures the entire delivery from Kashgar to Dubai is completed in just 10 days.
This groundbreaking project by NLC strengthens trade ties between China and Pakistan while opening new opportunities for international markets. The initiative aligns with agreements under CPEC and the TIR system, further solidifying economic cooperation and enhancing Pakistan’s connectivity with global trade routes.
In June, NLC successfully transported its first truck carrying 6 tons of cherries through the Khunjerab Pass to China, demonstrating its commitment to boosting trade with Central Asian countries. Last year, under the TIR system, NLC transported two trucks carrying pharmaceutical cargo from Pakistan to Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, highlighting its efficient strategies for expanding trade links.
By providing alternative trade routes through NLC, Pakistan is paving the way for increased international commerce. These initiatives are expected to not only strengthen Pakistan’s trade relations but also contribute significantly to the country’s economic growth.
